Review: Hunting Lila

Hunting Lila
Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was not into super natural romance but when I read the summary of it I thought this was interesting.I was not prepare to be so in love in it. I remember reading it while I was eating or when I was taking the subway. I was so absorb by it even till the last page.Every page is so exciting and it makes you want to read more and more of it. I literally hung on to every single word in the book. This book has a little bit of everything from romance to suspense to action.

Alex was one hot sizzling guy. He is smart, protective and know how to kick butt. I can see why Lila has a crush on him. He is also secretive making me unable to know what is on his mind most of the time. I can see him protectiveness for Lila when they escape and when she finally told him her secret. One of me favourite line in the book is:

“When you came down the stairs, and fell into me, that was the moment.” Then his lips pressed against mine.”
― Sarah Alderson, Hunting Lila

Maybe It was just be but I melted when he said that. Then there is Lila the one with super power. I like how that because that the book is in her point of view that made her seem so authentic and charming.

This book is really awesome and the cliffhanger at the end just made made me craved for Losing Lila more than ever. After all the cute and sexy romance of Alex and Lila is not to be miss.

Review: Knight in Shining Suit

Knight in Shining Suit
Knight in Shining Suit by Jerilee Kaye

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I first came across this book while I was still on Wattpad, and I did not realise the book was already published. I remember I was crying because I could not read more and I immediately went to purchase it. IT WAS TE BEST DECISION!!!! I was not really a romance type of person but this story is seriously one of the best romance book I have ever read. This book made me want to read more about Romance and this book is really addictive to read. I could not put it down for more than a sec!!!

Ryder Van Woodsen, a name that would make heart flutter. He is really charming and really sweet to Astrid. The number of endearment he used to called her is enough to make me blush and smile unconsciously while reading. He is really manly and really loving. I mean how many times do you see a man like him beg for your forgiveness on his knees? I know Ryder does.

Astrid the ever charming stubborn lady with gorgeous purple eyes. She is the love of Ryder's life. She had her fair share of hardships. Caught her ex making out with her maid of honour/ bestfriend /cousin and to realise that her dream wedding, the one that she so hard for, ended up as her not being the bride.

"Knight in Shining Suit" is by far one of my absolute favourite romance book and would probably remain on the top for a long time. I do not find it cliche at all because Jerilee Kaye has definitely has put her twist to the story.

Intertwined by Jerilee Kaye

Jerilee Kaye is one of the reasons why i have fallen so deeply into romance. She portray these guys like angels and every time I think that this would be another of those cliche stories, she "WOWED" me with a new element and twist.

This book makes me blush like a little girl, make my heart flutter and makes me cry. Its so wonderful and though Travis and Brianne have experience A LOT of ups and downs they still made it through and they are happily married together. This is such a beautiful, beautiful love story of how two broken people that come together as puzzles. They are so fitting together and it just so beautiful.

There is a lot of crying in this book but that does change my opinion of it, they both been through a lot and they only had each other to rely on. The heartbreak that they went through was just so painful. Jerilee Kaye manage to make my heart clench every time she write a heart breaking scene.

There was lots of sweet and cute moments. One of my fav was when he stood up for her when she was being look down upon by her wedding planner. I remember clearly too that because her ring with facing the inward of her palm the wedding planner mistook her of someone of less importance. CLEARLY TRAVIS DISAPPROVES!!! He turn the ring around and kiss her!!!! <SQUELS>

Jerilee Kaye is an AWESOME writer if you are interested in romance. Though she does not have many book, I feel that one book is enough to brighten my day. "Intertwined" is definitely a book worth your time, it just make you feel that there in that knight in shining armor ,or "Knight In Shining Suit" in this case, waiting for you and sweep you off your feet.

Crash Into You by Katie Mcgarry (Pushing The Limits #3)

Crash into you is like a good girls meets bad boy kind of story expect with a twist. This book talks a lot about cars and racing. This book is like when 2 clashing personality is brought together by their hobby. It starts off just as a coincidence but from the beginning I could feel the spark that Rachel and Isaiah had.
Isaiah, best friend to Noah. After his horrible ending with Beth, he seems to cut her off. He went on without her and continue with his job to repair cars. He like the other two wanted nothing more then to get out of the system. He was offered a job after he graduate and to someone like it it seems like his future is getting brighter and more promising. However, that was before he realise that landed himself into trouble from saving Little-Miss-Perfect, Rachel Young. He is like Noah and Beth has a soft side below his tough exterior. He was really one of the main reason that Rachel has break out from her shell and become who she really is.

“One day I’ll get a tattoo for you.” Warmth explodes in my chest, in awe that he would mark himself for me. “You don’t have to.” “I will.” His fingers trace my cheek and chills of pleasure run down my spine. “It’s what I do. Each tattoo represents the only happy memories I’ve had. And you, Rachel, you’re the happiest.”
― Katie McGarry, Crash into You

Rachel Young, the Miss Rich and the girl who seems it have it all. A nice house, loving parents, over-protective brothers, etc. But beyond that nice house everything seems breaking apart. Her Family seems to ask so much of her. They felt the need to replace her dead sister with her to keep her mom's sanity. She has a problem though. Beyond that Miss Perfect who is prom and proper is someone that is dying to scream out to the world that this is not her and it will never be. She feels tired to keep her facade on. She turn to the only thing that keeps her sane, her car. She feels alive when she over exceed that speed limit. That adrenaline rush is what keeps her alive.

This book is a book that writes about how one can have so much influence over another. How love can be so strong. Who knew that the Rachel Young that follows all her family rules would one day have the guts to scream back? Who know that the Isaiah that swore to never trust or fall in love again begins to tear down his wall and let his guard down? Well you have to Read "Crash Into You" to find out!!!

Dare You To by Katie Mcgarry (Pushing The Limits #2)

"Dare You To" is the first book of all the series that I have read. I was a little bit hesitant to read it in the first place because I thought that it would be very depressing and draggy. But the moment I started reading, I was not able to put it down. It was addictive and I was hook to it.
Ryan, the jock and the perfect son. He was the star of his baseball team and was ever so sure that baseball was his life. He was born into what seem a perfect family in the eyes of other, but his family was just like the rest.Broken. Complicated. Another thing about this jock, is that baseball is not the only thing he is good at he also has a talent for something els. He choice start to waver and when he met Beth his all so sure road isn't that promising at all. His character is very obedient yet at the same time cheeky and cute. He is so sweet and romantic. One of my favourite scene is:
“I hold the bottle out into the rain and watch as the steady flow slowly fills it. When there is enough, enough that Beth can clearly see, I close the bottle and hand it to her. She raises a skeptical eyebrow, but accepts the bottle. "It's our rain Beth." Her head barely shakes to show her confusion while I rub the back of my neck and search for my courage. "I told you I loved you in this rain and when you doubt my words, I want you to look at this bottle.”
― Katie McGarry, Dare You To
Beth is like Noah. She has a rather complicated relationship with her mother and I was able to see that below her tough exterior, she has a soft side for her family, Noah and Isaiah. She is not bound to the system like Noah but she felt she was being control. I just my favourite part about Beth is that she stands up for what she believes.
I learnt from here that in order to be happy, I have to chase after what I want and to fight for myself. To learn to trust. I also have learnt how to let go of certain things to feel happy. This book is definitely the reson I am drawn to this kind of romance. It is really an exciting read.

Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry

I was looking for this book for a long time before I finally got my hands on it. TBH I knew the moment i got it I would be hook to it. I have read "Dare You To" and "Crash Into You" before reading this. And this book I think t is my fav one out if all three but each one is has its own unique points and I love how Katie manages to develop each character true persona through each chapter.

Noah is a boy that I admire a lot for his fighting spirit. He is being controlled by the system. He is truly a fight and I love they way he is so caring and so gently to the one he loves yet he can he fierce and protective. I cried when I read the book. I cried when Noah gave up what he has been fighting for after so long and its break my heart. It is so touching. One of my favourite quotes from her is:

“Because growing up means making tough choices, and doing the right thing doesn’t necessarily mean doing the thing that feels good.” ― Katie McGarry, Pushing the Limits

Echo on the other hand despite having a family, she also has a fair share of her own problems. She used to be popular and being of that incident it causes her mind to repress to the memories. She is constantly trying to please her friends and dad. She has a mind of her own but because of the constant pressure of wanting her to be "normal" again, she is being force to shut the inner voice of hers.

This love story is not like the typical ones. The message of this book is powerful and strong. The way Katie write it, its so beautiful and I guess the takeaway of this book that I have learnt id that in life that are things I have to give up, but in return I could gain something better and so much more out of it. This is one of the book that I highly recommend.

A Little Bit About Me

I have 2 hobbies. One is watching soccer and the other is reading. I find that reading is the best way to kill time either when I taking the subway or take the bus. I tend to lean towards Romance and if i find a book that pique my interest of different genre I am willing to try. I used to not like book with like super powers but after reading Sarah Alderson’s “Hunting Lila”. I FELL FOR IT. She is one of my fav author. The next was Katie Mcgarry. I love the way she writes her stories IT IS AMAZING. I have read “Pushing The Limits”, “Dare You To”, “Crash Into You” and “Red At Night”. I LOVE the way each character develop themselves through each book and the fact that they help their half to become what they are.She really open my eyes that even in bad circumstances love can happen. Another author that i love is Jerilee Kaye. My love for romance has to start with her book “Knight In Shining Suit” I love the sweet romance along with the unexpected surprise.
